To Write Love On Her Arms

Friday 13th November is To Write Love On Her Arms Day. It’s a non- profit movement which is to raise awareness and present hope for people struggling with depression, addiction, self- injury and suicide. Although I personally have never suffered from any of these, it has affected my friends. One of my old SL friends suffered seriously with self harm. While I was friends with her she was regularly cutting herself as a way to release any stress or depression she was feeling, usually triggered by her boyfriend. We lost contact now but according to her profile she’s left SL which is a shame. I just hope she is ok :S My partners daughter in rl suffers from depression, as far as I know she hasn’t had any bad moments lately. She’s happy now, settled with her bf, they have a little puppy and a baby is on its way \o/ (I’ll be an unofficial grandma! I’m only 24 lol :S)

I know that some people find SL as a way to get away from their RL problems, they can enter a virtual world where they can be someone totally different. In one way, using SL as an escape might help them for a short time, but eventually it will only make things worse because SL can affect your emotions more than people actually realise. I’ve had experiences in SL that have hurt and upset me, some people don’t realise that there are real people behind the computer with real feelings. That’s one of the downsides of SL. For me though, I owe everything to SL because it’s how I met my RL partner \o/ Thank you SL.

Anyways, Whisper Swansong has made a set of tattoos especially for this event. It is available through the Fabulously Free in SL group inworld. Basically people in SL that are participating in this event wear pixel tattoos with the word Love on their bodies. It doesn’t necessarily have to be on your arms. Here are the tattoos:

Remember, remember the Fifth of November

I think most people know of the history of Bonfire Night (apart from little kids). If you don’t know what it’s all about, basically this bloke called Guy Fawkes tried blowing up the Houses of Parliament in London in on November 5th 1605, known as the Gunpowder Plot. It’s been made more commercial these days, fireworks are widely available in most supermarkets now. The perfect Bonfire Night is clear sky with stars, cold and dark, with people around the Bonfire warming their hands with stunning, breathtaking fireworks. In fact, last night it was raining, cloudy and miserable looking weather! Instead of going out to watch the fireworks in the rain, we stayed at home and watched the fireworks from the comfort of our sheltered balcony. It was pretty (ish), we have a good view over the town so we could see fireworks coming from random houses. I think we lasted around 10 minutes then came back inside!

This blog was meant to be posted yesterday but I got distracted making jewellery for my store. I’m glad I didn’t do it cos Kookie put these boots out early last night for the L$50 Friday. They are the perfect winter boots to wear while watching fireworks. This is a warm, snuggly outfit with thick layers that would definitely keep you warm on a winter night. I’ve had all these pieces of clothing in my inventory for a while apart from the boots. The jacket from Zenith is one that I won on a lucky chair, that I’ve never actually made Evie wear. I bought the hair/ hat from Argrace for a blog that I was planning to do a while ago but never actually did. The skirt is another item that’s been in my inventory for months that hasn’t been worn. I bought it from The Closet because it looked so cute. I knew it would come in useful sometime!

mijn trui- soon to be released at [DIAPOP]

I’m so excited about the new clothes that will be released at [DIAPOP] in the next week or so \o/ Dianne has generously given me the pants and sweaters that she made a couple of days ago and I want to share them with you cos I <3 them so much! She wants to do a little tweaking to the sweater but I think it’s awesome already! I suggested that the next sweater she makes should have a softer, wooly fabric rather than this one, especially cos it’s winter. I instantly fell in love with these pants when I saw Dianne wearing them and I was like omg Dianne I want your pants, and then when she said she made them I was like \o/ woot! So she sent them to me! It’s good having fashion designer friends, especially ones that have been making stuff for ages. I gotta say thank you to Dianne and to her bf Soma (from [Somapop]) cos they are both awesome and give me free stuff \o/

As for the other parts of the outfits, the pink and peal corsage is from Sister Strawberry, which comes in the ‘Flower one piece’ outfit. The brown boots are one of the latest additions to my wardrobe, which I bought yesterday from Kitties Lair. They have a cute tassel at the back and a double gold buckle on the ankles. They are scripted so that you can change the colour of the heels, turn bling on and off and change the colour of the buckles to either gold or silver. The wedges in the second picture on the right are from Kookie and I’ve had them for ages but I still love them :) I’ve got another outfit I want to blog, plus I want to do one for bonfire night tomorrow! So warm coat, scalf and socks / Woot for emeral viewer and extra attachment places! Yay!

Corpse Bride

We decided to have a Halloween Party at CAFE Andromeda last Tuesday. We made it a big event because the Japs had DJ Emeraldas Mills djing for them in the morning, so we decided to have DJ’s playing all the way through the day till 5pm slt. We had 6 DJ’s in total, myself included, and it was awesome. I had built a 2 prim dome and decorated the inside with cobwebs, spiders, a corpse and gravestones. There was a huge moon in the center of the ceiling with silhouettes of bats around it, and I’d also put up a rain emitter and a fog emitter. So it was wet, dark, foggy and creepy! The best thing about the whole party were the costumes that the vip’s wore. Everyone looked amazing. (I will add the pics to Flickr eventually)

I dressed Evie as a Corpse Bride (like in Tim Burton’s film- except Evie wasn’t blue). Evie wore a gorgeous white embroidered wedding dress that I had bought for her wedding but never wore. I needed a pale skin to make her look more like a corpse, and I found this one in my inventory from [the oBscene] vendor store at the Skin/ Shape Expo. I just had to add the stitched mouth and the infected corset from Blood & Scars, both of which reminded me of Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. To make the outfit complete I added the red tears from BP*.

Rezz Day Party!

Hi guys! Sorry it’s being so long! It’s the usual reasons so no need to explain lol.

Next Tuesday (3rd) my partner and I will have been in SL for 2 years! Petro was ‘born’ on the 2nd, so not too far apart :) We will be having a Rezz Day party on the Tuesday starting at 1pm! We’ll have two DJ’s- Abbie Tyran and me! \o/

Halloween @ *~*evie*~*

Hiii! Sorry it’s been so long since I last blogged. I’ve been busy rl, went away for a few days, haven’t been inspired to blog other peoples things and I’ve been busy busy with the stress of working at CAFE Andromeda. Since I’ve opened a store (which I renamed to *~*evie*~*) I’ve only really wanted to blog my own stuff since so many people read this blog.

I released two new ranges recently (last 2 weeks), a Halloween/ gothic range and more slogan ones. I’m kinda lacking inspiration at the moment, so it might be a while till I release more things. I am going to be released a group gift which will be available at the store sometime in the next few days (don’t know what it will be). I’d really like to learn how to make prim parts, and how to make jeans etc, but at the moment I don’t have the time. I really ought to hire an Assistant Manager to split the work load so that I don’t have loads of things to do! (Anyone want a job?! lol)

So in this blog I’m showing you a few Halloween tops I’ve made, (there are a couple more which are a bit boring so haven’t blogged them), hope you like these! They are all mod, no copy/ trans and are L$75 each. Currently only available at my store: *~*evie*~*

I’ve opened a store! YAY! It’s on the Trenza sim (opposite CAFE Andromeda) and it’s 1024 sq metres, 234 prims and rent free for all staff on the Trenza sim! I’m in love with my shop. It’s not totally ready yet, but it is open so go have a look! Here’s the slurl: *~*made by evie*~*

It’s a little(ish) wooden building with one room and a porch. It’s actually the Sea Hole ‘Spring House’ that I have as my home too, I’ve just customized it :D This is wot it looks like at the moment.

I’m showing you some of the tanks and vest tops I have made in the last couple of days. All of these are mod/ copy no trans, and are L$75 each :) My latest designs are Japanese inspired, with images of manga characters, cartoons and films.

I started making tank tops, vests and t-shirts recently and I like them heaps so gonna try flogging them :) I’m trying to find somewhere to rent so that I can set up a store, so hopefully they will be available soon. I haven’t got as far as making clothing with prim attachments yet, but hopefully one day I will learn :) I’m so excited about my clothes. Let my know what you think. They are reasonably priced too so won’t break your bank. It might break mine tho, uploading all the textures lol

I’ve been trying to work out how to display my items in a cost effective way. I want to make the store look really cool but to do so it will involve uploading more textures! I also need to decide on a decent logo. Any ideas? Let me know what you think of my clothes :D I’m also making some other stuff, I’ve made two chalkboard, one blank and one that says ‘I must not write dirty notes in class’ both are L$75. I’m thinking of other things to make too :D
